The pavé and cobbles of Northern France is one of the toughest challenges for a road cyclist, so here's GCN's guide to help you master it. Subscribe to GCN: http://gcn.eu/SubscribeToGCN The spring classic race Paris-Roubaix has made a very specific type of road famous on a global scale. Centuries old farm tracks, known as "pavé" are used to provide a unique challenge to the racers. This challenge comes from the fact that they are made up of large and exceedingly rough cobbles. To ride these requires the correct technique, exceedingly good bike handling, and the right equipment to make sure that both you and bike get through in one piece. We cover all of this, in our comprehensive How To video. Music: Black Black Hills - Red Cabin: http://gcn.eu/1qn5lgq About GCN: The Global Cyc...

A 360 tour around the Specialized S-Works Roubaix 2017 - Tom Boonen limited edition with the gloss metalic white / gold flake paint sheme that he rode during the Spring Classics 2017, including Paris-Roubaix (although that was a frame for rim brakes). Boonen always aspired to finish his career riding a white bike, the same color as his first racebike. There is a lot more symbolism painted on the top tube and headset: golden wings represent an angel to guide and protect him and there are 4 wing-tip feathers because this refers to the number of victories on the cobbles of Roubaix. The bike was first used by Boonen during 'Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2017'. This is the S-Works Roubaix with top-end FACT 11r carbon fiber, equipped with Disc Brakes, Shimano Dura Ace DI2 groupset, Future Shock suspens...

Ive been riding Specialized product for over 25 years now. I got my first S-Works shoes in 2000 and first S-Works bike in 2006. Ive always enjoyed most of the product Specialized have put out. I only ever use a cardboard box for travel as it is easier logistically for me and lighter weight. Take a tour of Lille Town Hall in Lille, France -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats. Nestled in the quaint, cobblestone squares and roads of Lille, France is the lofty Lille Town Hall and Belfry. Built by renowned French architect, Emile Dubuisson the structure was erected between the years 1924 and 1932. The building was made to mimic Flemish style houses that dominate the town, and presents a magnificent 340 foot tall bell tower, the tallest in Northern Europe. Ornamenting the Great Hall are a series of pillars, adorned in floral designs, reaching 350 feet in length. The Town Hall displays layered rows of rococo window panes and a tier of triangular gables on the roof. Looking out over the town of Lille, the splendid Lille Town H...

Peter Sagan will ride Paris-Roubaix on a custom version of Specialized’s new Roubaix bike, and like his Bora-Hansgrohe teammates, Tom Boonen and the rest of the Quick-Step Floors team, he has opted against disc brakes due to the risk of a long, possibly race-losing wait for a wheel or bike change on the cobbles. The new Roubaix is only available to the public with disc brakes but Specialized have made a limited production model with dual mount rim brakes for its professional riders. There was speculation about if this respected UCI rules, which state that bikes must be available for sale to the public. However Specialized said the rim brake model was approved by the UCI because it is only a change in brake type and minor changes to geometry, rather than a completely different bike. Sagan...
